Pandemic-Era Black & White Slideshow

America is at war with itself, brother against brother.

As in any war, truth is the first casualty. Complexities are reduced to black and white and rational discourse drowns in a sea of angry cliches.

Against this cultural backdrop I recently found myself leaching color from my photographs, as if attempting to mimic stark post-truth realities.

But black & white, I discovered, isn’t always black & white. Sometimes there are nuances. 256 shades of gray, to be exact.

🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. Hi Oops, I tried to reply to your powerful black and white piece but wasn’t allowed to post. My email is leepaez9@gmail.com now.

I was very moved by the images and music and am grateful that this piece came just after the killings in Uvalde.

    Hope you are well.

    Love, GL

  2. I’m so sorry you weren’t able to post. I think it matters whether you reply to the email or click your way through to the WordPress sight itself (like where we are now). It seems exasperating and I haven’t figured it out yet, because I don’t see exactly what options you see.

At any rate, thanks for getting through. Hope you are well, too.

If you changed your email address, you probably need to re-subscribe to this site for notifications. I will send you an invitation.
