I recently re-discovered two videos dating back 15 years. One is me off-the-cuff reminiscing about a former colleague, and the other is that same colleague volunteering as a target in a student “pi-throwing” event. (Jim was a mathematician.)
In this video they are spliced together in remembrance of a friend gone now ten years.
Life conspired to treat us differently. One is still enjoying retirement; the other never got the chance.

He was showing off, for sure. Fitting that he missed. I also noticed that after that long ferocious windup, Jim didn’t even flinch as the pie was coming toward him.
